‘Overwhelming’ means extremely great or strong. Being overwhelmed feels like you are being swept along by a huge wave in the ocean. You realise but are unable to do anything about it.
Today, I felt overwhelmed because, in a sleep-deprived state with a longer-than-usual to-do list, my tired mind kept thinking about the unfair world. I was so tied up for no solid reason, unable to take charge of the day.
It was a strange, draining pull until I decided to pause. I slid away from the main scene and spent some time in solitude. I did not speak, scroll, or screen.
I scaled down my list, bringing it down to the most important tasks.
I resumed slowly and steadily. Step by step, little by little, I kept doing my work, and within no time, I had completed many tasks.
I felt peaceful, just like you feel after swimming hard, against the tide, with full strength.
